The Doppelsöldner, translated as “double-mercenaries” or “double-pay men”, were Landsknechts in Renaissance Germany who volunteered to fight in the front line, taking on extra risk, in exchange for double payment. They used their massive two-handed Zweihänder swords to cut off the pointy ends of enemy pike and break through to the pikemen. I.E. they were the bad asses of “bad-war”.
This four figure multi-part set includes parts to build several poses with lot of floppy hats, slashed puffy sleeves and the rest that we associate with these vain and arrogant elite warriors.
