  • Over the course of the fifteenth century medieval levies were slowly replaced by careerist soldiers raised according to ordonnances. Franc-Archers, the archers serving Burgundy in the Compagnies d’Ordonnance. For most of this period archers would be mounted on the march and dismount for combat.
  • This set is intended to represent these semi-professional archers, wearing helmets and either padded jacks or Brigandines. Due to their nature as mounted infantry, these men wear spurs.
